Did you know the mat foundation of Exchange 106 required 60 hours of continuous concrete pouring to ensure a single, even base for the entire tower?

At 9.00 p.m. on 29th April 2016, the concrete pour commenced for the mat foundation of what would become Exchange 106. It continued without stopping, through day and night and through the rain, until completion at 9.00 a.m. on 2nd May 2016. 

Johnny Sukarya, fondly known as Pak Johnny, was there for every hour of it. As the Project Manager, he has been part of Exchange 106 since before the building took shape. 

"This building holds a lot of memories for me. I have been here since the planning stages, even before the mat foundation was poured. I have seen every phase of it rise from the ground up. After 835 days of construction, I am still here today," said Pak Johnny. 

Not everyone gets to see something through from start to finish like this and continue to look after the building now that tenants have moved in. I don't take it for granted," he added.

Some people build skyscrapers. Some stay to make them better. Pak Johnny is both. 👷
