World Engineering Day: Recognising the Engineering Excellence of Exchange 106
This World Engineering Day, we recognise the expertise, precision and dedication of the engineers who keep Exchange 106 operating seamlessly every day.

This World Engineering Day, we recognise the expertise, precision and dedication of the engineers who keep Exchange 106 operating seamlessly every day.
Aligned with this year’s theme, “Smart Engineering for a Sustainable Future through Innovation and Digitalisation,” Exchange 106 was designed with sustainability, intelligent systems and long-term efficiency at its core.
Located in Tun Razak Exchange, the tower stands among the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia. Beyond its scale, it represents a commitment to advanced engineering and future-ready infrastructure.
Exchange 106 holds the Green Building Index (GBI) Gold Certification with a 5-Star Energy Efficiency Rating, reflecting its strong environmental performance.
Some of the building’s sustainable features include:
- Rainwater harvesting systems used for irrigation and cooling towers.
- Water-efficient fittings reducing potable water consumption by up to 50%.
- Chillers operating with refrigerant that has zero Ozone Depleting Potential.
Smart technologies further enhance efficiency.
- An Energy Management System monitors real-time energy consumption
- CO2 sensors regulate fresh air intake based on demand.
- A heat recovery system also helps reduce the energy load of the air-conditioning system.
Exchange 106 is home to forward-thinking organisations including Huawei, Ant International, Digital Nasional Berhad, Exness, Centauri Services and Technology, and ACCESS.
Ir. Kenneth Lin, Assistant Chief Engineer of Exchange 106, shares:
"We take immense pride in caring for Exchange 106 and ensuring it performs with efficiency and precision every day. While much of our work happens behind the scenes, our focus remains the same, to ensure the building operates seamlessly so our tenants can focus on what they do best."
Today, we extend our appreciation to the engineers whose expertise and commitment help sustain the performance of Exchange 106.
